Did some words came from slang?

One night I was thinking about modifying my own native language to make people work together more easily and get them to more friendly agreements. Make them believe on things like honor, glory, love and freedom more easily- because I believe that the language you speak could lead you to a bit different ending in the same situation. An example could be other people thoughts about what you just did, or their reactions, or even take great people plans more seriously so they can give them morale. All this drove me to a little research on how new words are created. I read that people didn't like the word "cherise" because some thought that it mean plural, so they changed it to "cherry"(that makes it a slang) and then that word got into the dictionary. So now my question! DID SOME WORDS CAME FROM SLANG?
